So I'm back on!
I re-installed windows with the help of a friend and my internet is back on but....
My computer is on safe mode and I can't get off of it. We tried to download a new driver but it didn't help.
I can't get my resolution back and I don't know why...big surprise, it's always something.

Just a quick post on my parents computer.
My computers screwed.
I must have picked up a virus or something cause it won't get onto the internet so...I'm wiping it clean and starting from scratch, hopefully I will be up and running Saturday, now all I need to do is find a windows disk...

God I sometimes really hate being poor!
I deposited a cheque in the bank machine last week not thinking that they would hold it for a week...now I have no access to that money til tuesday...I'm wondering what my landlord will say to that.
After paying rent and not paying student loans this month I will have about $100 til the end of Nov...........LOOOOOLL!

Ever since I saw him at the Regina Folk Fest this summer I can't stop listening to this song... it was one of the highlights of the weekend and his voice was just so amazing it sent shivers down my spine.
It was one of those instances where the crowd of thousands just shut up and listened for the duration of the song, it was beautiful.

Exhibition and Social Misbehaviour

Had a lot of fun last night and on Monday as well.
An artist collective named Turner Prize* made some videos of the artwork thats in the ind the Gap show that we are in. We had a blast interacting with each other and the artwork.
The scenario was that we were gallery goers dressed in black at a fancy opening drinking wine and mingling. A lot of the vignette or tableaus that we shot were about weird social awkwardness but in a very serious or mundane way. We did things that people wouldn't normally do in social situations but we did it with an air or familiarity or nonchalant-ness. I had a friends hand in my crotch, I yelled penis repeatedly at the top of my voice. I crawled under shelves of artwork and picked up and carried around a girl as if she were a piece of furniture...it was a blast.
I believe they said that they are going to be putting them online in some way. If they do I'll post them, I really think the project is pretty great.

My piece in the show looks pretty awesome if I can say so :)
There will be tonnes of people there tonight, when you get 30 artists involved in one exhibition there's always one hell of a party!!!

Computers and Talks

I have my computer back!
My IT friend genius came over and went to work on it.
It's working better now but there seems to still be a glitch or two.
There was a chance that he wouls have had to wi[pe it clean and start over...that freaked me out a bit but it didn't come to that.

I'm getting really excited, the show goes up this week and the opening is on Friday.
I have two talks to do...yikes. One will be more casual with the facilitators as sort of an informative thing. The other talk is the doozie. It will be a talk/panel discussion and seriously I am not ready for it. As for my work I'm fine with it, I can talk about what and why and how but when it comes to the more umbrella concepts of photography, thats when I get stumped.
I'm horrible at remembering names. When you are talking about concepts, artists that influence your work or theorists in the field I am always stumped. I've never had a mind for that sort of thing and I really hope it doesn't come to that.
I am also going to be talking about my sexuality cause the images deal with that a lot. Now my family knows...I'm pretty sure all of them know but I think some aunts and grandmas will be coming and I might feel a little uncomfortable talking about it infront of them...we'll see.

Anyways, wish me luck, We'll see if I can pull this off (did I mention that I said yes only after they told me this would be a paid gig?)

Gay Bashing

I just found out today that a friend of mine was gay bashed last night in Saskatoon.
This is sickening. I don't know the details but he went to a straight bar and ended up getting attacked.
Now....in this day and age people are still so against homosexuality that they will physically, verbally and mentally abuse someone because of their hatred.
I tried to convince him that he needs to go to the police. I don't know if he's scared or what but he doesn't know the guys and said he couldn't tell them anything. I told him that they need to know that this happened...that this happens and that these fucking subhuman bastards will not only get away with it but do it to someone else.
It makes me both sad and mad...fuck if this happened to me there would be three things I would do: go to the hospital, go to the police and then go to every fucking news channel and newspaper I could think of.

Halloween problem

I'm having a bit of a conundrum.
I was all set out to be the devil...victorian style devil for halloween...now I've started to think about possibly going as a sinister ring master instead...I don't know what to do!
Should I go with the original plan where I don't know if everyone will understand the costume or go as a ring master where everyone will understand. Both costumes require a tux and tails and a moustache (which I have both of) I think the ring master needs riding pants though which might be an issue...and tall black boots...hum.
Anyways, what do you think I should do?
Which sounds better to you?

Well it's now two years since I came out. It's a weird anniversary for me...was never this great event or anything, obviously I was happy to do it and I definitely have to keep telling myself that two years is nothing when it comes to waiting for love to find me.
What has happened to me in the past two years blows my mind, I am just not the same person I was two years ago...thank god for that!
